There's a new band on the radar, Global Rhythm, formed out of 4 continents, uniting 4 unique musical gifts, by 4 people who have never met in person. When this band comes together, you get an explosive mix of rich instrumental techniques and harmonious vocal ranges, creating a melody of Jazz and Funk that either makes you want to dance or cry. Global Rhythm released their first single together as a band, 'A Love That Stays the Same.'
As I listen to this song, I can't help but be reminded of the love of God. The title gives it all away, that God's love stays the same. Recently, I've been in an inner battle with myself, going through the motions of this human life. Our own inner struggles can make us feel like God is afar off, not wanting to be "entangled" with our mess. When we struggle to love ourselves and love other people, God's love never changes.
I love the part of the song that says, "a love that carries through". Other people will let us down, we let ourselves down, but God is the total opposite. He lifts us up, He carries us, He fights for us. The Bible says that "He loved us first.. and He loved the world so much that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16
Jesus carried this love for you and me all the way to the crucifixion on the cross, so that we can be free from the devil's grip and the power of sin. Now that's a love that carries through. 🥰
Another way I'm reminded of God's love is how He brought this amazing, sonically sound band together. Four distinct individuals came together to make such a beautiful song about God's love; a love that stretches from Brazil to Sweden, to Houston, and United Kingdom. Four people who fit well together, God loves it when we come together to do great things.
Here is the lead singer, n.e.r.d. life by D'Vo's sentiment for the song,
"A Love that Stays the Same' is about the consistency of God’s love. It is something that should be honored and cherished. Often in relationships, people change, the way they love or care changes, but with God, it's always consistent. The Bible teaches us about the sacrifices God made in allowing His Son Jesus to die for our sins. So throughout all the relationships each being encounters, there is only One Love that will remain the same. So let's raise our glasses cherishing and celebrating that relationship."
